Son of Thomas Stultiens HMI & Kate (née Whittaker), both artists
Married to Catherine Knowelden, artist: two daughters, Ellen Alice (1999) & Isobel Kate (2003)
Educated at Hutton GS, Lancashire and Tiffin School, Surrey
Studied painting with sculpture at Kingston and Camberwell Schools of Art: Dip AD (Hons)
Taught by Alfred Heyworth, R B Kitaj, Robert Medley, Michael Podro & David Sylvester
Figurative painter with a principal interest in portraiture; draughtsman in varied media
Winner of the First Prize - John Player Portrait Award, National Portrait Gallery 1985
Elected a member of The Royal Society of Portrait Painters in 1991
Portrayed Her Majesty The Queen in 2003 to commemorate the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Coronation
