It’s a sad fact that many Art institutions are moving away from the ‘traditional’ form of drawing and painting. I was lucky enough to find Canterbury Christ Church University to study my degree in Fine Art Painting. I studied under practicing Artists such as John Long, Greg Ward, David Woodcock and David Shutt, all former students of the late Euan Uglow. The course offered a very traditional and structured programme, enabling me to focus and explore traditional forms of drawing, painting and sculpture. It’s strange to think that in a few decades, one of the most Avant Garde things to do will be to paint ‘traditional’ pictures…… Andrew Farmer
